Heylo everyone!
Ugh life's been busy around here, but I did take some time to browse through Amazon for some Riot Grrrl products that I want to buy but don't have the money for. Some day! *shakes fist*
This time I encountered something I had never seen before: a Riot Grrrl Children's Costume. I was like "wtf?" and then "oh damn, that's sweet!" Unfortunately, I do not have a little girl grrrlriotify (?) If I did...she would be wearing this for Halloween! It's just so cute and punky/disheveled/rioty ^__^
To me it is just the kewlest thing because I never thought that I would see an official Riot Grrrl costume of any sort. If any of you have kids (and that you like the costume, mind you) then you should definitely get this. I will post any Halloween pics that are sent to me (and apply to the theme of this blog) especially cute little girl costumes like this. I will update with more, just getting stuff in order. Till then, enjoy this adorkable costume.
Peace!

Hmmm...It IS pretty cute. But on further reflection and closer study, I have four complaints.
1.) It's awful stereotypical punk rock. The huge spikes? They couldn't have toned that down a wee little bit?
2.) It's super girly! Big hair bows? A DRESS? Couldn't it have been one or the other? Like hair bows and ripped pants? Or a dress and fake dreds?
3.) It starts at $25! Ugh, kid's Halloween costumes are too easily destroyed and too quickly grown out of to spend $25-35/kid every year. Not to mention the whole consumer-culture-cashing-in-on-a-subculture rant I could go on.
4.) Sizes don't start until 3-4T. What about those of use with riot grrls-in training that are still learning to walk and talk?
With all that said, I think I've been inspired for my daughter's Halloween costume this year. :) I wonder how hard it is to knit plaid...
